Article I
Name- Nutricius
Decuria
(Latin for Tutor Club)
A
group of students and faculty devoted to the enjoyment of lifelong
learning and committed to sharing the joy of education with peers and
community.
Nutricius -i m. [a tutor,
guardian]. Decuria -ae f. [a body of ten men; a class, division, esp.
of jurors]; [a party, club].
Article II
Membership
Membership will be based on a recommendation by: faculty, Learning
Center Directors, Staff, current and alumni tutors.
It is open to all current, former tutors and new tutor applicants,
Master Students as well as Staff of the ARC.
An applicant to the ARC Club must have a GPA of 3.00 or better and have
been at Bainbridge College at least one semester, or a PSO/Dual
Enrollment student.

Article III
Objectives
The ARC Club has been organized to promote a better understanding among
Bainbridge College’s Students, Faculty, Staff and Administration of the
services of the ARC and the leadership qualities that being a Tutor
instills in the participants of the Peer
Tutor program.
Members will strive to foster a spirit of unity and cooperation among
all members and to use their knowledge and skills to serve the school
and community.
The
ARC Club will provide opportunities for its members to observe and
practice good leadership and to display the qualities of good
citizenship.
Article IV
Officers and
Duties
President: To direct and
coordinate all efforts, with the assistance and support of all other
officers, sponsors and members, in accomplishing the goals of theClub.
Vice
President: To coordinate
public relations, serve in absence of the President and chair member
selection committee.
Secretary: To keep minutes
of all meetings, create and distribute public relations materials and
provide notices of meetings and events to members.
Business Manager: To
maintain financial records, to assist with planning of the annual
budget, to prepare and distribute a financial report after each event.
Article V
Meetings
Meetings will be held monthly and as needed to plan, staff and debrief
programs and projects. The meeting times may vary depending upon
schedules and committee members.
They
will be held primarily at the ARC, but can be held at an
approved off-campus location with the Sponsor (s) present.
Article VI
Budget
The
Sponsors will chair the budget committee, and all officers will
participate in the planning and allocation of funds.
An
annual budget will be completed by August 1st of each year
and submitted to the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Director
of Student Activities.
Article VII
Elections
Officers will be elected by the majority vote from the members.
The
Vice-President will be responsible for chairing a nominating committee
and for getting the appropriate recommendations from peers and faculty
for candidates.
Article VIII
Addendums and
Changes
The
constitution may be amended/added to or changed at any meeting provided
the amendment, addendum, or change has been sent to the membership at
least two weeks prior to the meeting.
The
author(s) of the amendment, addendum or change must attend the meeting
and explain the rationale for the amendment, addendum or change.
A
quorum must be present and a 51% vote of that quorum is necessary for
the amendment, addendum or addition to be changed.
* A quorum is defined as the number of people in attendance at a
meeting, providing proper notice has been given to the membership.
