Frequently Asked Questions

How do I copy my migrated course to a new section?

Go to the section of a course on your course list that you want to fill with the content of the migrated course. The first time you go into that section, you will have the option of copying content from an existing course. Choose that option and locate the migrated course in the list provided. GeorgiaVIEW will copy the migrated course content into your new section. Learn more here.

Can I put videos in my course?

Yes, but the way you do it is very important. Media files take up a lot of space and can be very slow to download for some students. Put media files on a podcasting channel provided through our Podcasting Server, and then embed the file in your GeorgiaView course. The files then actually sit outside of GeorgiaView and will not slow down traffic on that system. Learn more about using media.

I want to start working on a course I will teach online next semester, but it does not show-up in my course list. How can I work on it?

Sections for future semesters generally will not show-up in your course list until early the semester before. If you want to work on a section before it has been created in your course list, you have two options:

  1. Create your content in an existing section that you are currently not using. When the new section is available, you can then copy that content into your new section.
  2. Request a temporary development course be created for you. When your actual teaching section shows up in your course list, you can then copy content from your development section into the teaching section. Request a development section

I'm having technical problems.

There certainly can be a lot of glitches in software as complicated as the one running GeorgiaVIEW. Some of these are because you are not using supported browsers and plug-ins. See our Troubleshooting page for more help.
