PLATO Computer Exercises supporting MATH 1111 Text Material

PLATO software is available for use on campus at Bainbridge College for students enrolled in MATH 1111 and several other courses. PLATO can be used in rooms 635, 268, 269, 270, the Learning Center, and CALC (room 664). Schedules vary. Assistance is available in the Learning Center. PLATO offers tutorials, drills, and mastery tests. The advantage is an explanation in the tutorial and practice in the drill with instant feedback on whether you answer correctly.

To begin when asked for your PLATO name, enter your social security number with no hyphens or dashes. When asked for your password, choose something you will remember to use each time you use PLATO. The password may contain letters and/or numbers. It must be at least four characters long. It can be no longer than eight characters long. When typed several x=s appear rather than the password, not necessarily the same number of x=s as your password has characters. You may avoid some password problems by using only lower case letters in the password. You must use the same password throughout a semester for all classes using PLATO.

The first menu should include MATH 1111 and a five digit number.  Select it, and then select ADVANCED MATH. Next select ADVANCED ALGEBRA. A menu will be displayed with the topics listed below. Chapter references are for the Aufmann text used in Grimes classes and do not appear on the computer.
