We took this photo with the self-timer on August 18, 2003, the night before Joelle (top) flew to Japan. She's holding Montparnasse. Next on the stairs is Matthew, who was then a high school senior and who has Rachel, our sable and white sheltie. Chuck, then a freshman, is holding Maxwell. Charlie, my husband, has Jake, our blue merle sheltie. I'm at the bottom of the steps, and, thank goodness, we're out of pets!
