Salam Abdo, salam.abdo@bainbridge.edu Orientation: Mandatory
About the Course “Is it possible to learn Anatomy & Physiology online?” Absolutely! Today’s technology allows layer-by-layer dissection of the human body on your own personal computer. This privilege was previously limited to medical school students or advanced standing research. Moreover, flexible access to information, simulations, and assignments make online courses ideal for the non-traditional students who have other obligations. This course focuses on basic normal structure and function of the human body. Topics include an overview of each body system, how systems coordinate activities to maintain a balanced state, recognizing deviations from the normal, and medical terminology, including basic word structure and terms related to body structure and function. Technology Requirements Computer with reliable Internet connection that meets the following technical requirements: · Administrator Privileges (so you can install the simulation) · PC: Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Pentium II 500 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM · Macintosh: Power Mac OS 10.3.9 & Higher, 500 MHz or faster processor, 128 MB RAM · Recommended: 1024 x768 pixel screen resolution, color monitor running "Thousands of colors" or higher, audio capable system with speakers/headphones, 8x CD-ROM drive, mouse, Java version 1.4.2 or higher (free download) If you cannot install A&P Revealed 2.0 simulation on your personal computer, you might be able to complete simulations in the main campus library in Bainbridge. However, only one computer is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you will need to plan ahead. How to Succeed Pay attention to due dates. Misty Joiner, misty.joiner@bainbridge.edu
